It has been six weeks now since I started working at the Institute for European Studies. The second day at the job (or so) my new Apple 3GS iPhone was ordered. 16Gb black model, your pretty much ‘standard‘ outfit for an iPhone. This week our IT guy told me it’s likely going to take another 6 weeks for the iPhone to arrive. The Belgian market is not profitable enough to apple so there’s a general shortage both to the Mobistar shops (Apple does not directly supply Apple resellers with iPhones as they have some kind of an exclusivity deal with Mobistar) and to the Apple resellers, who have to get their own stock of iPhones through Mobistar and are apparently on the bottom of the delivery schedule.
It will take a total of about 12 weeks (if it finally arrives) for the iPhone to arrive; this is not the kind of service I expect for any mac product; I’m wondering why anyone would bother paying so much for a phone if this is what you have to go through.
Positive thought… I’m not paying for it, work is; but it still is quite a nuisance. (and yes, i’m a spoiled brat just whining about not having a new toy… so what?)
update:
The phone finally arrived half (15) october (!)
